Despierto y veo el reloj, son las 8:00pm en punto, había dormido todo el día porque la jornada laboral del día anterior estuvo exhaustiva… Pero estoy muy contenta porque me pagaron algo decente por un solo día de trabajo. Pienso en mi amiga, la única que tengo en este lugar, desde que llegué a esta ciudad tan lejana; al instante me visto y me cepillo mis dientes para ir a verla, llevo conmigo algo de dinero, quiero invitarla a comer. --- Para llegar hasta donde estaba ella tenía dos caminos, el primero era bastante transitado, el principal de hecho, el segundo era muy solitario, pero estaba lleno de árboles y al mirar a mi lado izquierdo ¡había un río! era majestuoso; ese era mi camino preferido, pero a esa hora el camino era muy oscuro, igual elegí mi segunda opción. Venía pensando en lo grata que se sentiría mi querida amiga con mi invitación. Ya era momento de adentrarme en el sombrío sendero, tengo mis manos dentro de mi suéter por el frío de la noche a los minutos de comenzar mi caminata siento el impulso de mirar hacia atrás, me percato de que alguien me está siguiendo, noto que es un chico joven, igual que yo, lo visualizo por las lejanas luces de la calle que aún logran alumbrar el camino; instintivamente recojo una piedra, la más grande que puedo ubicar con mi vista en ese momento, cuando dirijo nuevamente mi vista hacia atrás él se encontraba mucho más cerca de mí.
