Summer Time! One of things I look forward this summer is Halo Halo. Halo Halo is a delicacy that attractions from different cultures, but is particularly Filipino. It happens to be one of our favorite “meryenda” on summer.
First thing, this name of this Filipino dessert translate to “Mix-Mix” in English means mix all the variety of sweets fruits. Start with bananas foster, sweet potatoes, coconut gelatin, coconut string, jackfruit, corn, sweet beans, granulated sugar, beneath was crushed ice and topped with milk and Sweet Ube. It doesn’t stop there- there are also special Halo Halo offers additional leche plan and scoop of ice cream. Filipino has their different version of Halo Halo. But one thing for sure is it will satisfy your “thirst and appetite” this “tag init” summer.
Sounds typical but this remix dessert is awesome. Tons of flavor, texture and color. While eating it, some people do their own “kwento” about their summer escapade. I do enjoy this kind of dessert, and I’d like to try the new style of Halo Halo at Quirino Province which is their own “Buko – Halo Halo” placed on coconut shell instead of plastic dessert cups.
