There are a lot of varieties of mangoes in India and each type of mango has distinct taste and flavour. These small size of mangoes are very popular which are sweet & sour and can be squeezed and suck directly.
To make today's recipe Mango Raita ( Sweet & Sour spicy mango drink) I used these mangoes.
Ingredients
- Ripe sweet and sour mangoes to make 1 cup juice
- Sugar 2-3 tbsp or according to taste.
- Salt to taste
- Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
- Cummin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Red chili and turmeric powder 1/4 tsp each
- Vegetable oil 2 tsp
- Water to make 1 liter
- Fresh mint leaves for garnishing.
Procedure
- Squeeze mangoes and take the juice out of them.
- Add enough water to make it 1 liter and add sugar and salt. To make it smooth liquid it can be blend in a blender.
- Heat the oil in a pan and add all spices.
- Add the liquid in the fried spices.
- Mix well and keep in the fridge.
- Garnish with mint leaves and serve chilled.
