Hey Steemian,
When I was a child, my grandma (she's a star in the kitchen, like almost all the grandmas in the world) used to make this dessert with few ingredients, but delicious. I kind of noticed that Romanians use a lot the combination rum extract and chocolate or cocoa in dessert recipes. Maybe, that's why I'm so addicted to it.
The original recipe included simple biscuits, we call it here Popular biscuits (no flavor, plain and simple).
Of course, I wanted to replace the biscuits with something more healthier. And the options were oat and rye flakes. Brilliant, right? :)
Here is my recipe for SALAMI Biscuits without BISCUITS
100 g oat flakes
100 g rye flakes
50 g brown sugar
150 ml boiling water
50 g raisins
rum extract
50 cocoa
10 g almonds
70 g coconut oil
- Boil the water and melt the sugar. Add the rum extract.
- Blend the flakes, until their texture is sandy.
- In a bowl, mix the flakes with the liquid, raisins, almonds, cocoa and coconut oil.
- Put this mixture into a pan and let it cool in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. I let it overnight.
You can keep it in the fridge for one week.
Hope you'll try it and enjoy as much as I do.
Till next time,
FoxxyCat
