I was looking for recipes yesterday for something to do with leftover ham from our Easter dinner. One of the things that popped up in the search was a quiche. Now I always thought quiche was an involved time consuming meal to put together. Turns out I was way off. It is only a few simple ingredients mixed together and baked. This recipe that I put together is my own after studying recipes from the internet. This is a less dense quiche than you would find in a restaurant because I used whole milk instead of condensed or heavy cream. It still came out delicious.
INGREDIENTS
8 large eggs
1 1/4 cups whole milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
1 1/2 cups optional ingredients
season to taste
I used garlic powder and pepper as my seasonings. Be careful not to use too much. You want the flavors to accent the quiche, not overpower it. A little goes a long way.
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS
This is where your culinary creativity comes into play. These are the ingredients that will define your quiche and you can literally use anything that suits your taste. Some suggestions:
bacon
sausage
chicken
broccoli
diced tomatoes
mushrooms
spinach
diced peppers
The ingredients I chose were mushrooms, leftover asparagus, and leftover ham (diced)
