Saleum for all of steemians...!!
I've been missing to share Acehnese ancient cuisine. So, this time I share you one of my favorite savory taste of fish Thok. This is one of fish that can easily found in our fish market. I bought this fish right from the seller by the beach. My bad, I don't know this fish's name in Indonesian language nor English. I just copy what the fish seller said (because I just got into this fish eater club since living here in Lhokseumawe almost one year a half :D). So...this is it; Thok Tumeh ala JU (hope Farah Quin doesn't mind I'm using her famous tagline:D).
Ingredients:
- 300 gr Thok fish
- lime
- salt
- water
Spice:
- 5 Red chilies
- 6 shallot
- 1 garlic
- 6 dried blimbi
- 1/2 tsp coriander
- 1 cm ginger
- 1 tsp turmeric
Fry: - 1 shallot
- 1 Pandan leaf
- 6 Cury leaves
- Cooking oil
Instructions:
- Wash the fish, squeese lime and sprinkle salt.
- Grind all the spice then pour into fish.
- Heat the oil then fry shallot, pandan and curry leaves.
- When the good smell comes out enter the fish.
- Add in water and salt.
- Cooked until oil comes out.
- Serve.
It just a perfect lunch with a plate of warm rice. Have a try. :)
