Yesterday, I posted a photo where I used eco-bags we have at home. Instead of plastic bags, eco-bags are now piling up in our drawers. This time, I used another bag to take photos of the viand I cooked for lunch. I don't know how to call this dish.
I am grateful today for the time I have to cook. I was finished with my task earlier that's why I have the time to do so.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes
- Carrots
- Tofu
- Banana (Saba)
- Onions
- Garlic
- Onion Leeks
- Salt
- Crushed Black Pepper
- Catsup or tomato sauce.
- Water
Preparation:
- Peel potatoes and carrots. Cut in cubes (bit size).
- Cut banana in cubes (bit size).
- Cut tofu in cubes (bit size).
- Crush garlic and then chop.
- Slice onions to small pieces.
- Cut onion leeks the way you want it.
How to Cook:
- Heat pan and put enough oil.
- Fry potatoes and carrots. I used another pan to fry the tofu and banana since they are easily cooked.
- When those are cooked, mix them in a pan.
- Add water, catsup or tomato sauce, salt and pepper.
- Let it simmer for a 2-3 minutes or until the water thickens.
- Add the leeks and cover for another minute.
NOTE: I don't measure what I cook. I am used to estimate. So, play by your taste.
Do you always follow measurements when cooking?
Cooking and taste depends from person to person. We are training ourselves here at home to lessen salt. Sometimes we don't put salt in our cooking and it is up to the person who will eat to add salt to his food to his liking. However, we do not do that when there are visitors or if there is a party in the house.
I was able to cook today and that also gave me the chance to take photos. I was not able to take photos while preparing or while cooking because I was multitasking. Only when I was done did I have time to collect my thoughts and focus on how to present the photo.
I chose from the dozens of eco-bags or bag for life that we have and decided to settle to the bag you see in the photos. I have to choose what bowl to use for the food. I used baby blue to give contrast to the red color of the food.
I tried placing the elements in different positions and took photos on different angles. The problem with my camera is that I have to shoot and shoot because it is hard to focus by manually shooting. I am still adjusting to it as I always auto focus before.
This is another learning experience for me because I am forced to use manual focus. The camera that I am using is the point of totally giving. However, I still use it while I can. The auto focus function is not working.
I am also thankful that I am able to watch movies like Lara Croft. I like the action scenes and the mystery and how she solved it. There are still a lot more movies that I want to watch and hopefully I have more chances in the next few days to do so.
Having more time to do more things is what I am grateful for today.
