What a tasty bunch of cookies, but WHY do we have them?
These are the great things in life that we really enjoy. @Papa-pepper was just wrapping up an excellent dinner when he was asked if he wanted a cookie for dessert. A cookie?
But WHY are there cookies? WHERE did they come from? WHY are they so hot, moist, and tasty? Interestingly enough, Pinkie-Pepper had just wanted to make some. While was taking care of business elsewhere, Pinkie-Pepper had asked
if she could make some cookies. Although she is "only seven," she's been around teh kitchen enough and helped out enough to handle a simple recipe like this.
With Red-Pepper by her side to help, our girls got busy and took care of dessert.... now if they'd only take care of the dishes...
Just kidding, they do that too! Anyway, in a day and age when families living together and interacting together is becoming increasingly rare, we are so blessed that our children can not only be exposed to things like making cookies, but that they can even be given the opportunity to enjoy making their own. Just the fact that they are willing to ask if they can make some is pretty cool too. Any child can ask for a cookie, but asking to make a whole batch of cookies is even better.
Of course they get to taste the "fruit" of their labor too! I think that it is unfortunate that so many kids will even graduate high school these days with no idea how to do something as simple as making a batch of cookies. Sure, they can also just go to the nearest store and purchase some with their credit card, but still. Anyway, for all of the parents out there, how you raise your children is your choice, but please, raise your children.
The byproducts of the things that they learn how to do can be incredibly delicious!
