I'm growing basil on the patio this spring/summer. You can't really grow for calories on a patio, but you can grow herbs for health! I chose basil because it's a low-maintenance, high-yield herb found in lots of recipes.
Featured here is a dairy-free margherita pizza with organic tomato sauce and organic home-grown basil. I look forward to another pizza with even bigger leaves!
I also enjoy basil in chilli, marinara, and thai curry, and hopefully pesto soon too!
