Actually, it was probably one of my favorite jobs too!
Pizza is one of those well rounded meals that is a favorite to many. For me, although I've always enjoyed pizza, I really began to enjoy pizza on a whole different level when I lived in New Orleans. The only job that I could get at first was a dishwasher job at a local pizza restaurant. Within a year, I was one of the assistant managers, but one of my favorite tasks there was just making the pizza. Yesterday, we got to enjoy a tasty homemade one here at home.
I MAKE-A DA PIZZA!
To save time, likes to use this bread maker, which does an amazing job. We use it for a lot of things, but pizza dough is one of them.
To prevent the dough from sticking, I cover my hands and the table with flour and work the dough out into the desired shape. In this case, it was a round pizza.
See, a round pizza fits well into this round pan!
The sauce went on first, spread thick in a nice, hearty layer.
Then came the cheese. Usually cheese comes next for us, but if we were adding spinach, we would have put that down second and then covered it in cheese.
While these may be sweet pepper and lack the heat, I think that they still count! LOL.
Purple onions added a little bite, and looks excellent as well.
For our meat, we used some ground goat meat. I helped a neighbor down the street harvest a few last fall, and he blessed us with some of the meat. It was an unexpected gift, but a well received one!
After browning the meat and seasoning it with turmeric, black pepper, and salt, I added it to the pizza.
Then, into the oven it went, and soon, we were ready!
Well would you look at that! The knew it was good even before they tasted it! LOL. Anyway, that was our dinner last night, and making pizzas is still a very enjoyable experience for me.
As always, I'm
