Who will say NO to this yummy Champorado or Sweet Chocolate Rice Porridge π
Be it for breakfast or snack time, I can even eat it for lunch or dinner... π Hot champorado during rainy season! Best partner with "tuyo " (dried fish) π Simot Sarap up to the last bite!
Ingredients:
- Tablea - it is a pure chocolate tablet made from toasted and ground cocoa beans
- Steamed Glutinous Rice or Leftover rice or Oats
- Sugar if you want to make it a little bit sweet
To make your experience delightful, you can try it with:
- Dried fish is the number one partner of Champoradoπ it's saltiness perfectly blends with Champorado's bittersweet taste
- Condensed Milk to add sweetness especially if you did not add sugar while cooking champorado.
- You can also mix Milk Powder instead of Condensed Milk. It tastes good too - I love mixing it with Nido Powder ππ
How to...
Cooking Champorado is very easy... Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! We do not need to be very technical in terms of measurements.
- Boil 2 to 3 cups of water
- Then put 3 to 4 Tableas and keep stirring until it melts
- Mix the steamed glutinous rice or leftover rice. If you are on diet, you can use oats instead of rice.
- Mix it well until everything is covered with melted chocolate.
- Add a little bit of sugar
- Let it dries up a bit, not too much
And holaaa... you made it!
This is best serve during rainy season... Oohh,, I remember my lola is only cooking this whenever there's storm π π me and my cousins are all excited whenever there's storm, not just because we do not need to go to school, it's simply because of Champorado time!
It can be shared at breakfast or snack time, with family and/or friends.
But for me, I enjoy eating Champorado while watching movie! π
