Good Afternoon,
Here are the mains from the tasting menu. There was a lot of different flavours going on here for sure.
The fish dish, Skrei Cod. The cod was served perfectly. Very moist and succulent. I loved the crispy potato on top too.
The next dish was Guinea Hen. This bird was again moist and I loved the filling. This tasted like a very posh Sunday roast.
Next was a Scotch Egg like no other. Normally it's made with pork surrounding the egg...
...this one was surrounded by prawn. Never ever have I seen this before or even heard of someone coming up with the idea with it. Just delish. Was like a prawn toast meets a traditional Scotch egg.
The last of the mains was pork and lettuce. This pork was pink and glistening. I'm not normally a fan of pork because I find it tastes 'too piggy' as weird as that sounds. This was juicy and yummy. I would order this again. It came with a little battered sausage like one of those ones from the chippy. The cooked lettuce was a nice bit of vegetable on the side along with the gherkin slice. The best of all was the gherkin gravy. When I saw the chef do this on TV I was desperate to taste it. Then I prayed by going to his guest chef evening that this was going to me on the menu. It was! I'm so happy I got to taste it. The highlight of the meal for sure!
The best courses I've had in a very long time. I didn't think I was going to like the pork. Turns out it was one of my favourite dishes. Finally dessert... I will post this when I next get a chance. I hope you have enjoyed these dishes as much as I had enjoyment in eating them and sharing them.
