BERONDONG (Sundanese: borondong, Javanese: brondong) is a type of confectionary from cereal grains that are heated to explode (expand or "bloom"). The most common is made of corn grains (popular as popcorn), but can also be made from several other cereals, such as rice (unhulled rice or rice) and seed spinach (Amaranthus). Popping made from dried rice is usually printed in a square shape and sweetened.
