Today I will be writing about a favorite middle-eastern recipe of mine which is Shisha Kabab (beef) & Tawook (Chicken) These are quite popular in the Middle East due to its savory bold delicious flavors . You can easily make them at home and make them taste just as good, if not better.
Ingredients(shish tawook)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup plain yogurt
5 cloves garlic minced
3 tablespoon of each ketchup and mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
3 medium pounds of skinless boneless chicken breast halves cut into 2 inch pieces
2 large onion, cut into large chunks
1 onion,finally diced
2 tablespoon vinger
1 from each color of bell pepper red,green, orange cut into large chunks
16 bamboo skewers soaked in water

1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon allspice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 onion,finally diced
1 table spoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon coarsely cracked black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 pounds lean beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 from each color of bell peppers, cut into chunks
1 large onion ,cut into chunks
16 bamboo skewers soaked in water
2 table spoon of vinegar
Method (shish kebab)
Whisk the vegetable oil, soy sauce, lemon juice,Worcestershire sauce, garlic, black pepper, thyme, rosemary, finally chopped onion, paprika, all spice, vinegar and salt together in a bowl. Add the beef, coat with the marinade, cover. Marinate in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight.
Thread pieces of green bell pepper, beef, red bell pepper, beef, and onion on to the skewers, repeating until all ingredients are skewered.
Cook the skewers on the preheated pan with oil, turning frequently and brushing generously with the reserved marinade until nicely browned on all sides and the meat is no longer pink in the center, about 15 minutes.
Serve with tahini sauce , lettuce and tortilla
Method ( Shish tawook)
Whisk together the lemon juice, vegetable oil, plain yogurt, garlic, ketchup, mustard, salt, paprika, pepper, allspice, finally diced onion, vinegar and cardamom in a large bowl; add the chicken and toss to coat. cover; refrigerate all night or at least 4 hours
Thread the chicken, onions, and pepper onto metal skewers. Cook on preheated pan with oil until the chicken is golden and no longer pink in the center, about 5 minutes each side.
Serve with tahini sauce , lettuce and tortilla
