Today's Recipe is a staple Pilaf Rice , in Peru we know it as "Arroz Arabe" , we serve this dish most of the time on Holidays or special occasions, In Peru we use Coke and Soy Sauce to give it some color and sometimes we replace raisins for grapes , this version its going to be a little different from the Pilaf Rice you are use to it , but give it a try it is delicious.

"Arroz Arabe" | Servings: 4
Ingredients :
- 2 Tablespoons of Vegetable Oil
- 3 Garlic Cloves, chopped
- 2 Cups of Rice
- 2 Cups of Coke
- 1 Cup of Water
- 30 gr of Angel hair (In pieces)
- 1 Cup of Raisins or grapes
- 1/4 Cup of Chopped Nuts
- 3 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce
- 1 Teaspoon of Salt
- Pepper to taste
Steps :
- In a hot pot add vegetable oil , then brown the angel hair , stir constantly or it will burn.
- Add rice, garlic , give it a quick stir then add coke, water, raisins,nuts, soy sauce , salt and pepper, stir and let it cook for 20 min with a lid on.
- Once its cooked you can add more raisin and nuts(optional)
This dish is a great side dish for your next potluck, it is tasty and easy to prepare give it a try you wont regret it!
