Poori is an Indian deep fried flat bread. In India, it is often served as breakfast with like a curry or lentils. It is really delicious and goes well with meat or cooked vegetables. I have eaten poori before with roast chicken. It is absolutely good! However, it is traditionally served with lentils or something vegetarian. It is also eaten with sweet dishes and is a yummy light snack. I will be sharing a recipe on how to make poori which is pretty simple. I have tried this recipe out and it was great!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 cup of sour milk
- 1/2 cup of normal milk
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
Mix together all the dry ingredients. Then rub the butter into the mix to form a bread crumb texture. Combine the sour milk and the normal milk and mix it together. Then add it the rest of the mix to form a dough. Make equal sized little balls with the dough and then roll them out. Finally, deep fry them and enjoy!
