Hello guys! Happy Wednesday!
It's a rainy day today. I thought about making a hot soup for dinner just perfect for this kind of weather.
I asked my kids what would they prefer for dinner. Uhm well, I guess my soup isn't that popular with them hahaha!
So yeah, instead of having soup today I'm going to make an easy Chicken bite with a sweet sauce as requested by my kids.
Chicken bite with a sweet sauce is also known as "General Tso" or for some, it could be called "Orange Chicken" depending on how you cook it.
Generally speaking, it is just a chicken with sauce on it.
Of course, I have to make fried rice to go with this dish...
If you've been here on my blog, I make a delicious Chili-Garlic Rice to die for!

Okay moving on...
Chicken bite recipe:
- Chicken, chopped into small bites
- Salt and pepper (according to taste)
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 whole egg
- 5 seasonings or whatever you have
- garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp of baking powder
Mix all ingredients in a big bowl and add a small water. Set aside for a few minutes, then you can start frying.
Fry for about 4-6 minutes depending on the size of your chicken bites.
When it's golden brown means you cooked it perfectly!
For the sauce I used:
- minced garlic
- chili-flakes
- 2tbsp of ketchup
- 1/4 cup of dark soy sauce
- brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- set-aside cornstarch water (cornstarch dissolved in water)
The same thing, just mix everything in a hot pan. Just wait on the cornstarch water, you'll use it to thicken the sauce. Just add little by little until the sauce thickens.
The sauce should look like this. :)
It's time to eat..... :)
You can cook your chicken with the sauce in a pan, but my kids prefer it separately. I think cooking it together gives the best flavor.
Yumminess!! That's all for now, thank you guys for reading. Catch ya later! Bye! -mama dork
