Baking is an art form. It leads to the growth of one's curiosity and creativity.
Last Thursday, My sister's friends and I made an apple pie. I assisted in chopping the apple into thin slices and making the sauce. The crust was made by my sister.
How I made the sauce?
I thickened it with cornstarch. Cinnamon is also on the list; it adds flavor and aroma to the apple pie, and you can adjust the amount of sugar to your liking. Of course, lemon juice and butter is added to balance the sauce's creaminess and sourness. I combine all of the ingredients in a sauce pan over medium heat so that the sauce does not burn. Stir it until it becomes thick.
This is actually my first time making an apple sauce, seems easy but it's not. The sweetness, sourness, and creaminess should be balance. Because if not the taste will be awful for sure.
With the help of ate Gilaine's friend I made it. Next time I will try to do it alone.
My sister and her friends made the crust, and after an hour of chilling the dough, they piled the apple and poured the sauce on top. Ate Gilaine covered it with a thin top crust and folded the edges to it and brushed it with egg yolk.
After baking it, I made coffee because I knew it would go well with the pie.
That was a good day; I learned something new and ate something delicious.
Food is my simple happiness, as I believe everyone feels the same as I do... Hehe, And sometimes I'd rather eat good food than buy something I've wanted for a long time. hehehe
Actually, my body shape can tell how I love food so much, hahaha.
How about you? Do you ever have a guilty food pleasure? What are the foods that you can't resist eating?
