Hello there dear Steemians. Today I want to share with you one of my favorite dishes. I love the simplicity of it and how easy it can be made, but at the same time rewarding your senses with rich flavors.
Pasta al sugo di pomodoro
Ingredients
500gr Pasta (penne rigate)
1 can of tomato sauce (or chopped tomatoes)
Garlic
Oregano Spice
Salt
Parmigiano-Reggiano grated cheese
Tools
Pan
Pot
Strainer
HOW TO PREPARE IT
Clean the garlic, take 3 cloves and make small cuts in them (ignore my very used cutboard).
Put some olive oil in the pan, just enough to cover the surface of your pan (ignore my overused pan).
Fill a pot half way with water. Add some salt and a few drops of oil. Then put it on to boil.
In the pan, add the garlic and leave it until the oil is hot.
When the garlic is slightly fried, add the tomato juice and start stirring. Make sure not to leave it without stirring it every few minutes.
Because I love extra sauce, I decided to add another can of chopped tomatoes.
When the water in your pot is boiling, pour the pasta and stir a little.
Depending on how you like them, you can leave them to boil while stirring occasionally for about 11 minutes for hard boiled and 20 for soft boiled.
By now the sauce should be almost done. Add oregano spice and continue to stir, leaving it for another few minutes to simmer.
This sauce is a messy one, so prepare for a nice cleanup of your work station after it's done.
When the pasta is boiled to your preference, get a strainer out.
Keep them under cold water for a few minutes. This will make sure the pasta wont become one big pudding pasta pile.
Put them back in your pot and add the tomato sauce.
Stir them and make sure the sauce covers them well.
Prepare a nice plate of pasta and add as much grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese as you want.
My dad always says that I don't eat pasta with cheese I eat cheese with pasta, and he is right. After this pic was taken I probably poured half of the cheese on those yummy yummy pasta.
