There is a restaraunt in Hudson called Agave Kitchen, where my brother, Erik, is a regular. I had the day off yesterday and we wanted to get the kids out of the house, so we decided to make the 45 minute trek across the border to meet my bro for some Agave food.
Have you ever experienced the joyous wonder of trying to keep 3 little gremlins in their seats to eat their lunch? No? Well let me tell you, it's heaps of fun!
Just kidding. But they were pretty well behaved for most of our time there.
We had to start off with Nola Fries, which are French fries tossed in homemade buffalo sauce with a heaping side of Blue Cheese.....and I don't even like blue cheese. I think it tastes like feet....not that I know how feet taste...
BUT!, this blue cheese was actually palatable. Kudos to Agave for making a blue cheese I could stomach.
The wife had veggie tacos in a lettuce wrap and I had the Wham Bam burger. Banana Pepper's, Muenster Cheese, Chipotle Aoili, and Pico de Gallo, medium rare of course. It was surprisingly light, I ate the whole damn thing, lol.
Even after filling up on some delicious food, the kids were more than willing to go to a local ice cream shop right down the street.
Knoke's!!!
Ice cream, sherbet, homemade chocolates, and a bevy of different candies that would remind you of your childhood.
The kids shared a cotton candy ice cream cone. The wife and I shared some pistachio flavored ice cream, it was really good.
We took a walk down by the river to finish our treats and scope out the water scene.
SHARING IS CARING! :)
It was super windy! There was even a kite surfer out on the river who seemed to be having a great time. He was flying all over the place.
It got a little chilly with the wind and ice cream and the kids were tired so we packed up and headed home.
It was a nice little day trip and adventure for the fam. Have you ever been to Hudson?!
I'll leave you with a little humor, this one always makes me chuckle.
A Wisconsinite took a stick of dynamite and threw it across the river into Minnesota and said, "take that you Minnesotan's!"...a Minnesotan saw and heard the Wisconsinite, so he picked up the stick of dynamite, lit it, and threw it back.
