The dominaes behind the nape or also known as "Christs"
To delve deeper into the subject first we must know that they are dominated.
Dominated: It is an exercise that consists of flexing your elbows while you are in suspension (hanging) of a bar, handrails or any place where you can hold with your hands. The movement is as follows, being hung (extended elbows) we raise our body to the point where the chin over passes the bar, and then return to the starting position. In this exercise the main muscle groups that work directly are back and arms, however, we also indirectly activate other muscles such as the abs and forearms.
Now that we know they are dominated, it's time to get to the point. Why is not it recommended to do trasnuca pull-ups?
Although many people think that doing trasnuca pulls makes us work better in the back area, in fact the work we do is practically the same as doing them in the traditional way, with the addition that it is potentially harmful to our shoulders and puts in risk the neck area. The shoulder is in an external rotation in the final phase of the exercise (when you try to get your back to the bar) that increases the risk of injury drastically and unnecessarily.
Train strong and smart!
