Last week I shared with you our favorite healthy snack of roasted chick peas. Did you try them out? I need to make another batch soon! My kids and I just love them.
Speaking of kids, sometimes I find it difficult to get a workout in! I used to love it when I could take them to the gym and check them into kid care and go to my class, head to the shower and pick them up a few hours later. Now, I try to do a workout online and I have 5 kids asking me to help them with their clothes, find a missing Lego, get them some water, and a million other questions! When working out in the living room, it’s pretty hard to get 20 minutes in of a work out, much less an entire hour long class.
One day, my kids saw that I was working out and they wanted to join me! I was thinking to myself this would be a disaster and they would do two minutes and give up. They all got into it though. We don’t have enough weights to go around, so everyone grabbed what they could; a few of them had peanut butter jars, others had spaghetti sauce cans and others had jelly jars. They decided to work out with me that day and everyone had a lot of fun!
HASFit is our favorite channel to work out to on YouTube. It has great workouts for beginner up to advanced. They have all different kinds of workouts too, from HIIT to Tabata to weights to full body to just abs. I like that I can get the kids involved doing a lower intensity or beginner video.
Some days the kids join me in working out and some days they watch and tell me how many more minutes I have until I am done! Either way, they are helping me stay motivated to keep going. I am glad they see the importance of staying strong and healthy.
Do you use exercise programs to stay in shape? Do you know of any kid friendly exercise programs on YouTube?
