🌮 ¡Comida mexicana para celebrar! || Mexican food to celebrate!

Siempre he pensado que todo momento especial debe de celebrarse con comida deliciosa y lo más genial de todo el asunto es cuando tus amigos tienen esa misma mentalidad que tú. Hoy presenté mi última práctica de Laboratorio de toda la carrera, así que para celebrar este día especial, mi amiga Laura me propuso que apenas termináramos la práctica fuésemos a comer algo. La verdad es que este día especial simplemente no podíamos dejar que pasara por debajo de la mesa.

El lugar que escogimos para nuestra pequeña celebracion fue Pancho Villa, un local pequeño de comida Mexicana bastante genial y al que yo nunca había tenido la oportunidad de visitar. El lugar es bastante agradable y pintoresco, además de que cada detalle -obviamente- hace alusión al lindo país Mexicano. En esta oportunidad, tanto mi amiga como yo optamos cada una por la promoción de dos tacos por $2. Estos tacos iban rellenos de carne molida, puré de caraotas, pollo, quedó y salsa ligeramente picante. Además de eso, para tomar, mi amiga optó por una limonada frappé, mientras que yo me incliné más hacia un cóctel, así que terminé probando un mojito de fresa.

Debo admitir que los tacos estaban geniales, aunque mi amiga y yo teníamos en mente que la tortilla del taco era un poco más crocante y esta más bien parecía una tortilla de burrito. Fuera de esto el sabor de cada uno de los ingredientes no dejó para nada qué desear, pero lo que sí dejó que desear fue el cóctel. Yo r alimente esperaba quizás algo con una textura un poco más densa con un perfecto equilibrio entre la fresa y el ron. No me esperé nunca que los trozos de fresa de hundieran tristemente en el fondo del vaso 😔.

¿Ya ven por qué siempre voy a preferir un café ante cualquier otra bebida? En fin, dejando de lado este mojito tan extraño, fue un lindo momento entre amigas felices que están a punto de obtener su título Universitario...y este tipo de momentos son los que siempre quedarán en el fondo de mi corazoncito.

I have always thought that every special moment should be celebrated with delicious food and the coolest part of the whole thing is when your friends have the same mentality as you. Today I presented my last Lab practice of the whole career, so to celebrate this special day, my friend Laura proposed me that as soon as we finished the practice we should go out to eat something. The truth is that we simply could not let this special day pass under the table.

The place we chose for our little celebration was Pancho Villa, a pretty cool little Mexican food place that I had never had the chance to visit before. The place is quite nice and picturesque, and every detail -obviously- alludes to the beautiful Mexican country. On this occasion, my friend and I each opted for the promotion of two tacos for $2. These tacos were filled with ground beef, mashed beans, chicken, and a slightly spicy sauce. Besides that, to drink, my friend opted for a frappé lemonade, while I leaned more towards a cocktail, so I ended up trying a strawberry mojito.

I must admit that the tacos were great, although my friend and I had in mind that the taco tortilla was a bit more crunchy and this one looked more like a burrito tortilla. Other than that the taste of each of the ingredients left nothing to be desired, but what did leave something to be desired was the cocktail. I was expecting something with a slightly denser texture with a perfect balance between strawberry and rum. I never expected the strawberry chunks to sadly sink to the bottom of the glass 😔.

Can you see why I'm always going to prefer a coffee over any other drink? Anyway, leaving aside this very strange mojito, it was a nice moment between happy friends who are about to get their University degree...and this kind of moments are the ones that will always remain in the bottom of my little heart.
