Hello Hiveans and , How are you? Hope everyone is fine and all is well. So here I am again this week to introduce my signature dish for Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | Signature Dish!.
There are so many dishes that I loved cooking but the one that stood out among the rest is my Chicken Briyani rice dish. I was called a Briyani Specialist by my family whenever I cooked this dish. There are tons of ingredients to this dish and the key to success is always patience and passion to make it, so here it is my signature dish Chicken Briyani and I hope you will like my presentation and will try to cook this tasty rice dish. In the end, it is all worthwhile to spend my precious time cooking this delicious dish and to see my family enjoying the meal while spending our quality time having lunch together.
Chicken Briyani
Ingredients
Marinade the chicken
1/2 chicken
1 packet briyani spice
4 tablespoons natural yogurt
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 cloves garlic + 2 inches ginger (Blend)
Method: Marinate the chicken with blended garlic and ginger, add briyani spices, natural yogurt, salt and black pepper, mix well and put aside.
Ingredients
2 tomatoes (Blend)
1 onion
2 cinnamon
2 star anise
4 cardamom
2 cloves
4 bay leaf
3 potatoes (cut and fry until golden brown)
2 green chilies
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Garnishing Ingredients
1 cup cashews
5 onions (fry until brown)
1/2 bowl raisins
Coriander leaves (chopped)
Methods
- Preparing the rice: 4 cups Basmathi rice (wash and soak for 10 minutes). After 10 minutes of soaking the rice, boil the rice until the rice is 80% cooked. Remove the pot from the fire and strain the rice. Put aside.
'2. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the potatoes until golden brown. Remove from the pan and put aside.
'3. Fry the onions until golden brown. Remove from the pan and put aside.
'4. Now using the same oil, I will start preparing the chicken. First I start with frying the onions until slightly brown.
'5. Add cinnamon, star anise, cardamom, cloves and bay leaf.
'6. Add the blended tomatoes and cook until oil appears on the surface.
'7. Add the marinated chicken and cook until oil appears on the surface.
'8. Add fried onion just a little bit from the garnishing ingredients.
'9. Add potatoes and mix well.
'10. Add the green chilies and coriander leaves. Continue cooking on low fire for another 15 minutes. Remove the pan from fire.
'11. Now start arranging the rice and chicken for the Chicken Briyani, remember that we need 3 layers of rice. The first layer put the rice into the pot then add half of the chicken dish, sprinkle fried onion and coriander leaves. Repeat this step one more time.
'12. Then the final layer will be the rest of the rice, sprinkle fried onion and coriander leaves. Spread a few drops of yellow food coloring. Then finally add 1 cup water.
'13. Cover with a lid that has been wrapped with a towel. Cook on low fire for 30 minutes or until rice is cooked to perfection. When the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and rest for 1/2 hour with the lid on.
'14. Before serving, mix the rice well and garnish it with raisins, cashews and coriander leaves. Chicken Briyani is ready, yummy!
Ingredients for salads:
1 onion
2 tomatoes
2 cucumbers
1 carrot
2 tablespoons vinegar
Lemon juice of 1/2 lemon
1 teaspoon salt
Methods for salads:
Diced onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrot.
Add vinegar, lemon juice and salt, mix well. Salad is ready!
