No Air Fryers were harmed in the making of this post.
The air fryer will always be my cooking device. Meat balls will rest on the grill.
Let's take a look at the stuff inside these meat balls!
I melted coconut oil and ghee together. I use these two oils in lots of my cooking. To be honest, I probably didn't need it.
After the oil was viscous, added sliced Jalapeños to the mix.
The oily jalapeño peppers were added to the meat and I drizzled the rest of the oil onto my smashed meat. The meat was ground beef from the Japanese market. I had it smashed inside a medium sided plastic container. Sorry, no pictures of it. I was too busy contemplating how much flour to add.
Doesn't everyone add flour to their meatballs. People add lots of different stuff to meatballs... Yeah, flour is filler, but that's part of the fun! What was it Mighty Mouse once said "Purity is in the eye of the beholder?"
Cassava flour seemed like good flour to use because it's the only flour I have ever purchased. I'm new here.
I found the flour in the clearance section of the grocery store. Some supper markets (Sprouts, Ralph's, Vons) keep a clearance rack in the back of the store. I usually don't endorse these places, but I would suggest only buying from the clearance section. Lesser of evil world, right? The clearance rack is usually near the bathrooms and or the storage room.
A meatball future was on the horizon.
Gluten free is fine. We are making meatballs!!! How can I go wrong?!? Sprinkle in the flour and mix it all up with your clean COVID hands. Create a meat paste.
SMASH that meat into little balls.
Not too big. Sometimes they can get too big and they will fall apart. No egg in here to hold them together. This is a job for the air fryer and grill setting. Let's toss one in and get a fell for it.
Whoa! Looks burnt, but it's not bad. Inside was perfect. It's not spicy enough. Jalapeños alway lose their punch when we cook them. The flavor is great.
My air fryer has a grill attachment/bottom. I'll be using this instead of the basket. I want the juice. It hurts to watch precious meat juice drip down onto nothing. I want some grill marks and I want to outside to get crispy.
I get it. I'm ready to commit the rest.
DING! READY!
Here they are! Delicious flavor and not dried out. Turn up the air fryer heat near the end to sear the tops.
Next, I used a different air fryer to make four meat patties. These turned out like oily hamburgers. Not to heavy, but they rest in the oil while cooking inside these little bowls.
It was delicious. Thanks for ready. Sorry if I made you hungry while you don't have food. Peace. Eat soon.
