Recently I came to a product in our local green health store and decided to give it a try. It was hemp flour and by the reputation, it looked like something I could benefit from.
An extensive collection of nutrients only puts it on the superfood list, but in many cultures across the world usage of this plant in cooking or for anything is frowned upon because of its close relative.
Hemp unlike marijuana doesn't contain any fun factors, and it is usually used to reinforce exhausted agricultural soil depleted of substances that are necessary for growing other "more appropriate" plant cultures.
Aside from that hemp can also be used to produce furniture and clothing, and it is an extremely versatile culture in any niche.
For the food, as flour, the only thing I found to be a bit inconvenient is that if you manage to eat it too much - and each person has their own maximum - it will make some unwanted digestive problems because this flour is incredibly rich in fibers.
I use seeds instead of grains, so I am satisfied with hemp flour because it fits my digestion and improves it. I mix 1/4 of hemp with 3/4 of other flour that I use.
Hemp flour is dark, greenish-chocolate colored with an interesting scent that reminds me a bit of nut. Unlike other flours that I use this one has a mild smell.
Hemp is not only high in fibers but also extremely high in proteins, vitamins, minerals, Omega 3 & 6, have a low carb index, is gluten and lectin-free, and contains all 20 amino acids.
It is a heavy-duty ingredient and takes a little adjustment. My personal experience with it was only the best.
