Lovely dinner
I like preparing dinner when we have guests or just cooking something up for my wife and kids. The fresher the ingredients, the better and if the ingredients are local too, all the better. I have shared some of these recipes here with you over the months.
Sometimes it's nice to eat out as well though, and recently when we were out I was delighted to see Prawn tempura on the menu, an absolute favourite of mine! Tempura vegetables are lovely too, but Tempura Prawns 🤤🤤🤤
Here are a few photos for ye:
I can tell you one thing now, these bad boys absolutely hit the spot and they were only the starter. For a country surrounded by water and the vast Atlantic ocean minutes from my back door, as a country we don't eat as much fish as we should. We are getting better, but for a country with such rich fishing waters, it's a wonder we are not more like Nordic countries who are steeped in seafood traditions. I for one have made a conscious decision to try to eat more fish.
It's good for you!
That decision is not only because they are bloody delicious, but also because of all of the health benefits associated with eating fish. They reckon we should all be having 2 or 3 meals a week that contain fatty fish like salmon, herring or mackerel as the Omega oils and other nutrients are very good for us.
There are more benefits too. It is said that enjoying a meal containing fish once or twice a week can reduce the risk of stroke, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and other chronic conditions. Wow! That alone is reason enough to increase our intake of fish.
It's one of those meals, that even as you're eating it, it feels and tastes healthy, so go on start eating more fish, I promise you won't regret it.
Often with food that's good for us, it's bland, boring and drab, not so with fish though, quite the opposite in fact.
