Rich in sunlight. That's Indonesia. It sucks sometimes. But frequent sunlight is a blessing especially in the morning. Like warm power that gives spirit through the deepest part of the body.
That morning was very sunny. I, who was exhausted from the previous day's trip, was still reluctant to explore other places in Batam City at that time. But when I look out the window and it's a sunny day I feel excited. It would really be a shame if I didn't go out at that time.
Sunny days are great for photographing the scenery at tourist spots. The sky will be blue with beautiful unique shaped clouds. And, good light is essential for good photographs.
So, I rushed to get ready at that time. I do not miss the chance of sunny days that have come. I know what it's like to spend a day on a trip with the weather not being sunny some time back. It makes my shooting results not optimal. So, this is the time!
Breakfast First
Breakfast is the most important thing to start the day. Moreover, I needed a lot of energy at that time to explore the surrounding area. I did a search on Google Maps for a good breakfast at an affordable price.
There are many available street food-style food stalls that are crowded with visitors. So, I was curious too. Moreover, the recommended menu there is Roti Prata and Mie Lendir (Mucus Noodles). Both of these menus include Batam City Pride which must be tried when visiting the city of Batam.
Well, Roti Prata is sold in the nearest food stalls. However, only a few places are really popular and are recommended by many people. Thanks to Google Maps. Reviews and opinions of people cannot be fooled. It helps me to actually decide which places to visit, to wisely spend money on food.
Crowd From Prata Waroeng 8 Attracts Attention
To be honest, I'm more interested in crowded places than places I've never been. That makes me believe that the place is really liked by many people.
In the culinary world, a lonely place is worthy of suspicion. As potential buyers, we must also choose wisely. Money is still money. So, that place (Prata Waroeng 8 Attracts Attention*) caught my attention.
You can see for yourself how crowded the place is! At that time I had to queue to be able to get a seat. There are many local residents, also from Malaysia and Singapore.
Yeep, Batam City is very close to our neighboring countries, namely Malaysia and Singapore. From Singapore, you can take the ferry.
After standing in line for a while and my eyes had to be keen to find an empty spot. I'm so happy and can't wait to try their food.
Roti Prata With Curry Gravy
Roti Prata is a kind of flat-bread that has many variations of filling, with sweet or savory versions. For savory, with chicken and minced meat filling, which is then served with a creamy curry gravy.
My order is Roti Prata with minced meat filling. The outer skin is still crispy and the minced meat tastes juicy.
Plus, the curry gravy makes the Roti Prata dish even richer in taste. Perfect for breakfast or dinner because it's not too heavy.
Well, I only tried one piece. The rest, my husband spent it. I chose to finish another food, namely Mie Lendir.
Mie Lendir (Mucus Noodles)
Sounds weird! The name Mucus is really weird. Lendir is Indonesian for Mucus. I'm very curious about it.
After my order came, then I understood what the Mucus Noodles meant. Apparently because of the texture of the gravy noodles which are like Mucus.
Mucus Noodles has gravy peanut sauce with thickened flour. Served with a special yellow noodles. Topped with fried red onion, chopped celery, and chopped peanuts.
Mucus Noodles are my favourite. In the area near where I live, there is a menu similar to Mucus noodles but without the peanut ingredient in the gravy and I don't like it. But for Mucus Noodles by Prata Waroeng 8 I really like it!
A Special Drink Tea Tarik.
Close to Singapore and Malaysia, making Batam City has delicious Tea Tarik! Very different from Tea Tarik in my area.
A blend of tea and milk. The taste is very creamy. I'm sure they use a different brand of tea and milk from my area. That's why it feels so authentic. Just perfect!
Walking In City Park
After breakfast I headed to the park in the city, in the Sekupang area to be precise. The park usually used for jogging tracks and or playing electric bikes.
In the garden there is a large pond. Contains lots of fish and beautiful lotus flowers. My hunch was right. It was a great day for walking and taking photos!
There are many places for sit down and enjoying fresh air with beautiful refreshing view.
How are the results of my photos in the park? I'm very happy even though I'm quite tired. But later sleep will restore my energy. Stay cool! See you ❤️❤️❤️
