Food is an object that can make you full and even make your heart happy.
There is not a single being in this world that does not need food. Plants need nutrients and water to photosynthesize, animals need food to continue living, and humans need food to continue their daily activities.
Humans are created with hunger, there is not a single human being who is not hungry, even when they are sick, hunger comes over, marked by a rumbling stomach and sounds like an anaconda wants to escape from our stomach, it can even make humans weak if they don't get food.
My husband and I are one of God's creatures who love to eat. Eating is a favorite thing for us, every morning after waking up we must be hungry, during the day it's the same, especially at night, the hunger comes after midnight. Even I can walk alone to the dining table while I'm still asleep when I feel hungry, take whatever is in the fridge and unknowingly eat in the middle of the night, and instantly go back to sleep.
Sometimes, to deal with that hunger, I make some snacks ranging from ready-to-eat food, frozen food and snacks. Ranging from complicated foods to easy to cook. I also often try some snack recipes on the internet. We can easily get a lot of food inspiration.
For snacks, I really like Chinese food such as dim sum, spring rolls, and lee hong kien. This is my favorite when I eat at one of the famous restaurants in Medan called 'Restaurant Nelayan'.
Yesterday, I really wanted to eat a type of dim sum, namely tofu skin spring rolls. This food has a five star rating from me. How to make it very easy and also the materials used are very easy. Want to know the recipe? Check this out foodies!
Tofu Skin Spring Roll Ingredients
- Tofu skin (there are 2 types of tofu skin in Indonesia, choose the flexible one, if using the crunchy one, soak for up to 2 hours)
- Chicken meat (use chicken breast fillet, you can also mix it with shrimp, I happen to be allergic to shrimp)
- Tapioca flour
- Garlic
- Pepper
- Oregano
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
- Water
- The oil for frying
How to Make Tofu Skin Spring Rolls:
- Puree the chicken meat with a chopper machine, make sure it is really smooth.
- Enter the garlic, so that it smells more fragrant, you can fry the garlic first, then mash it with the chicken.
- After all the ingredients are smooth, add the tapioca flour, oregano, salt, a teaspoon of oyster sauce, and pepper. Mix by hand. Make sure everything is thoroughly mixed.
- Cut into pieces of tofu skin, according to taste. Not too big, not too small either. I use size 10 cm x 15 cm.
- Shape like a risolles, or can be as you like. The important thing is that the meat is evenly covered with the skin of the tofu. Glue using water on the ends of the tofu skin.
- Heat the boiled water in the steam, while forming spring rolls. Then apply a little oil into the layer of the steamer so that the spring rolls don't stick to the surface of the steamer. Steam for 10 minutes.
- Rest the spring rolls to cool, then the spring rolls can be immediately put in the refrigerator or fried.
- Fry in hot oil for 3 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve with chili/tomato sauce, it's definitely great!
Easy isn't it?
This is my favorite frozen food to stock at home. Can be served to guests who come to the house or as a friend to snack in the afternoon.
