Sweet potatoes as what we called it camote is one of our alternative foods aside from corn and rice in the mountain.
The sweet potato is a dicotyledonous plant that belongs to the bindweed or morning glory family, Convolvulaceae. Its large, starchy, sweet-tasting, tuberous roots are used as a root vegetable. The young shoots and leaves are sometimes eaten as greens. Wikipedia

If we are run out of canned goods, fish, dried fish, and others, camote tops are the best one for a healthy meal. It is good for people who have iron deficiency.
I stayed in the mountain for 3 weeks, so I must depend on the vegetables. I had 3 remaining slices of tuna, so I tried it.

soy sauce
Vinegar

Place all the spices into the soy sauce with vinegar and mix it well. Add lemon juice.
Steam the stem of camote tops moderately. Half cook is the better and doesn't prolong while steaming.
We eat this type of food paired with white rice or corn. It has a very low-cost meal but is full of vitality and nutrients.
I didn't have any regrets about living in the mountain. The transportation is a little bit harder, uneasy way riding in a single motor for how many hours but the climate and organic foods meet the necessity of my body needs. I am a sickly woman even before but this place give me a comfortable life.
