Hello, foodies! Howdy?
Been a while since my last post and i do hope you do miss me haha, lol. This time let me tell you about one old seafood restaurant called "crab nest", but no need to be worried cause no crab would walk around you there.
When we arrived there, it was not yet 6 pm but there were some customers there before us. This modest restaurant sold seafood menus, and some hung on their wall.
The menu that they had were roasted fish, roasted fish in rica-rica style (spicy), fermented beans fish, fish soup, dried fried fish, and also sweet and sour fish. They also had squid in sweet and sour, butter fried, flour fried and in oyster sauce. For the shrimp, they had flour fried shrimp, padangnese sauce shrimp, boiled shrimp, butter fried shrimp, roasted shrimp, and fermented bean shrimp. They also still had some crab menu, shell menu and stirred kale.
Unfortunately the menus that we ordered didn't come together, but one by one. They delivered rice and uduk rice with boiled shrimp first. The uduk rice was fragrant spices rice which tasted a bit salty. The fresh boiled shrimp served with their authentic chilli sauce with garlic which brought the spicy, sour and sweet taste to the shrimp.
While their stirred kale, they used young kale, and used pepper in cooking it. It tasted medium salty and i think it was just so-so. Come on, many Indonesians could cook it better...
We also had the crunchy fried tempeh and tofu. It had salty savory flavour with crunchy fried on the top. The tofu had crunchy but soft texture outside and smooth inside, while the tempeh had harder texture. Both of tofu and tempeh were tasty, still.. And they came with chilli sweet soy sauce which made it more tasty.
Last but least, the roasted fish, sorry for not taking the whole new picture of it, cause both my aunt and uncle were so hungry so that they had one side of it while i was washing hands. But this fish wasn't dissapointed at all. It was fresh, well roasted, it had tasty sweet salty flavour.
So will you come to crab nest to try their seafood?
