Hello, friends especially foodies!
Yesterday was Christmas, so after sunday churching with mommy, her eldest son and his family (wife plus three children) we decided to go to a popular new opening branch of a well known Indonesian food restaurant which was located in Alam Sutera, an integrated area in Tangerang, West Java. It took around 30 minutes to drive there from Jakarta, my hometown. Maybe you ask why we needed to go there? Because mommy’s son just moved to his new house with his family so they needed to buy some households needs, and there was a large specialized store near there (my first experience to go there, but unfortunately my hand was full there so I didn’t have opportunity to catch moments there to share with you all here). Yeah maybe next time if go there again, I would have some opportunity to take any pictures then share it with you all here.
Back to the restaurant, the name is “Pondok Kemangi”.
From the outside the restaurant was cool, with nature wood concept. It looked so wide and it had a quite large parking lots at its' front. They had the modern minimalist style of building. I love nature concept of everything, really! And I think to build this one modern building took time and not few money, as an economist I thought whoah how many years they needed to bring back the capital they used to make it, wow!
Inside it had a quite large entry hall and in the dining area you could feel that the nature around you, all the interior there made of wood, with its' natural color. The smell of the nature felt so great there, of course they also had a christmas tree, some Christmas decor and also greeny area there, and I was a bit upset that their plants and trees there were fake. All were just decoration esthetic purpose only. Although they set it perfectly I still missed the real plants. Anyway I love their decoration inside, where they met industrial concept interior with modern natural one, they used all natural wooden tables and chairs. Anyway beside cozy, their dining area also large and they also had one dining are upstair (so altogether they had 2 floor restaurant building. Look that there were some customers before us although we arrived there around 10 something, this restaurant was popular!
Mommy took a picture of me near the christmas tree which i didn't like because it seemed chubby and fat. I am not that fat but i am also not a photogenic one so i looked more ugly than i used to be :'. So sad that it always happens to almost all of my photos, oh no!
Anyway i took a picture of the christmas tree part and don't want to throw it away, hahah!
I also didn't forget to take photos with the twin, yeah, mom had twin grandchildren and we were close, i love children and they always love me! They wore red checkers gown while me I love blue, so I put on my navy shirt and jeans.
Actually mommy and i were in the same car while her son, daughter in law and grandchildren were in another car so when they came first, they already ordered for us. But when mom asked have they ordered any veggies, the answer is not yet, so mom get the idea to order some veggies for us.
It took some little times for them to prepare our food, and the dishes also not came in the same time.
The three dishes that came first were roasted shrimp, roasted fish, squid in mango soy sauce.
When I had them all, the squid, roasted fish and roasted shrimp, what I love the most was their roasted fish. It had savory sweet flavour with soft texture. While their roasted shrimp was tasty too but the skin was too thick and it took our time to open the skin, and inside the meat was less tastier than the fish, with same savory and sweet kind of flavour. And about the squid it was too chewy and a bit hard to bite for me, so what I love the most was their fish.
Beside, we also had their Balinese spices shrimp.
It had light savory and the texture was as same as the shrimp we had before because it was also roasted.
Don’t forget that we also still had two kind of veggies that mom ordered, it was their salted fish stirred beansprouts and also their water spinach.
The beansprouts tasted light savory and it was helped by the salted fish they put in. The texture of the beansprouts were in the middle, it was still crunchy although it was well cooked.
And for their water spinach, it had light savory flavour. Both the veggies tasted light and it was better at my house, cause my aunt’s restaurant’s chef cooked for us.
Actually mommy’s son also ordered the filling tofu but unfortunately they didn’t have it yesterday.
For the price this restaurant had the middle common price of the same kind of restaurants here so they didn’t sell their menu overpriced so you don’t need to be worried about it.
So when will you come to Pondok Kemangi to have some seafood?
