If you’ve never had a Medjool date, I urge you to get on that. They are naturally very sweet, with a caramel-y taste, which is why this recipe contains no added sweeteners! They are also high in antioxidants, electrolytes (nature’s perfect workout snack), and are packed with fibre (12% of your daily requirement in one serving)!
So what can you put this chutney on? Well, just about anything! I have trailed it on oatmeal, atop pancakes, with curry, and straight up on a spoon; the possibilities are endless! If you’re not into garam masala spice or don’t have it on hand, feel free to sub with regular cinnamon.
Mango and Date Chutney Recipe
Ingredients (Approx 2 c.)
- 1 mango, chopped
- 3/4 c. Medjool dates, pits removed
- 1 c. water (+ more as needed)
- 1 tsp. garam masala
Instructions
Add ingredients to a small sauce pot. Once boiled down, mash with the back of a fork.
Chill in the fridge before serving.
