Todo postre tiene una historia para contar, sea un pastel de boda que habla de los sentimientos a flor de piel de esa ocasión o unos estupendos cupcakes para un baby shower que dulcemente sonríen en espera de la llegada de un nuevo ser.
Hace algún tiempo les compartía la historia de un cupccake y hoy quiero hacer lo propio contándoles la historia de este pastel que les voy a mostrar. En la portada no dejo ver mucho más de lo que fue el resultado final de este pastel, pero sí les digo que, en mi opinión, fue algo un poco alocado y divertido.

Some time ago I shared with you the story of a cupcake and today I want to do the same by telling you the story of this cake that I am going to show you. On the cover I don't let you see much more of what the final result of this cake was, but I can tell you that, in my opinion, it was something a little crazy and fun.
Todo comenzó el día en que recibí una invitación por Whatsapp, para la reunión de cumpleaños de una prima. Ella iba a despedir a sus veintes y se le ocurrió que el motivo de su fiesta fuera, textualmente, "decir adiós para siempre" a estos años, para recibir a sus treintas de una manera renovada. Así que fui invitada al sepelio de cumpleaños de los veintes de Vanessa ¡Qué de susto me llevé cuando vi borrosamente la tarjeta de invitación! En serio pensé que alguien había muerto.
Pasado el susto me reí, entendiendo que los jóvenes ven las cosas de forma diferente y se toman con más humor ciertas palabras, y es que al final de todo, la muerte puede significar nuevos comienzos.
Luego de recibir la invitación a la fiesta, a la cual de paso debía asistir vestida de negro, empecé a pensar en llevar algún postre con ese toque de humor negro. Estuve viendo referencias en internet sobre pasteles oscuramente divertidos y fui alimentando mi imaginario.
It all started the day I received an invitation via Whatsapp, for a cousin's birthday gathering. She was going to say goodbye to her twenties and it occurred to her that the reason for her party was, textually, to "say goodbye forever" to these years, to welcome her thirties in a renewed way. So I was invited to the birthday party of Vanessa's veintes What a shock I got when I saw the blurry invitation card! I seriously thought someone had died.
After the scare I laughed, understanding that young people see things differently and take certain words with more humor, and at the end of the day, death can mean new beginnings.
After receiving the invitation to the party, which I had to attend dressed in black, I started to think about bringing a dessert with that touch of black humor. I was looking at references on the internet about darkly funny cakes and I was feeding my imagination.
La historia sigue con la preparación de un exquisito pastel de chocolate, tengo esta receta anotada en mi recetario, pero con ella siempre me pasa que cambio la cantidad de ingredientes a placer según mis gustos del día o con lo que vaya a acompañarla.

En caso de tener arequipe para la decoración, suelo bajar la cantidad de azúcar del pastel, en este caso no tenía arequipe sino que preparé un ganache de cacao en polvo bien sencillo, simplemente se mezcla azúcar pulverizada con cacao y luego se agrega de a poco cucharaditas de agua tibia.
If I have arequipe for decoration, I usually lower the amount of sugar in the cake, in this case I did not have arequipe but I prepared a very simple cocoa powder ganache, just mix powdered sugar with cocoa and then add teaspoons of warm water a little at a time.
Cuando tuve mi esponjoso pastel de chocolate listo, procedí a quitar la parte superior, pues iba a desmenuzarla para colocarla encima del pastel restante que también desmenucé un poco y lo bañe con el ganache de cacao.

También compré algunas chucherías para ver cuáles podía usar para dar vida al motivo de este pastel, entre ellas galletas waffle, galletas dulces cubiertas de chocolate y una crema con doble sabor de chocolate con avellana y leche, ésta última no la usé, pero siempre es mejor que sobren a que falten ingredientes.
I also bought some sweet snacks to decide which ones I could use to give life to the motif of this cake, among them waffle cookies, chocolate covered cookies and a double chocolate flavored cream with hazelnut and milk, the latter I did not use, but it is always better to have leftovers than missing ingredients.

Nada más adecuado para una fiesta dónde se despide una década de forma jocosa que un pastel lleno de una carga de humor negro.
Para dibujar las galletas waffles usé un palillo de dientes y el ganache de cacao, me gustarón cómo quedaron, para ser la primera vez tuve un buen resultado.
Fui agregando más detalles, colocando las "lápidas dulces" insertadas en palillos de diente y posicionándolas en la chocolatosa tierra de este cementerio comestible, usé las galletas de chocolate como una especie de rocas.

To draw the waffles I used a toothpick and cocoa ganache, I liked how they turned out, for the first time I had a good result.
I added more details, placing the "sweet tombstones" inserted in toothpicks and positioning them in the chocolatey soil of this edible cemetery, I used the chocolate cookies as a kind of rocks.
Yo solía trabajar con fondant, pero luego de un período económico dónde los materiales se pusieron muy costosos, preferí dedicarme a otras cosas, solía prepararlo yo misma. De eso ha pasado mucho tiempo, sin embargo, aun tengo un poco de fondant que me regalaron, entonces se me ocurrió hacer unas piernas saliendo de la tierra, para simbolizar a esos 20s a los que mi prima despedía con humor, tambien agregué unos gusanitos rosa (aquí inserto una risa mientras escribo estas líneas).

El toque final fue un fantasma junto al nombre de la cumpleañera, lo hice de cartulina y lo pegué a una paleta de madera que coloque en el pastel, si bien prefiero colocar solo elementos comestibles en los pasteles no tenía fondant blanco, así que opté por un recurso de la llamada papelería creativa.
La cumpleañera se río mucho al ver el pastel, fue muy agradable ver su reacción y la pasó genial en su día, por mi parte me divertí creando este pastel y colocando cada pequeño detalle que me hizo recordar mis antiguos proyectos pasteleros. ¡Dulce y divertida vida!
The final touch was a ghost next to the birthday girl's name, I made it out of cardboard and glued it to a wooden palette that I placed on the cake, although I prefer to place only edible elements on cakes I didn't have white fondant, so I opted for a resource of the so-called creative papercraft.
The birthday girl laughed a lot when she saw the cake, it was very nice her reaction and she had a great time on her day, for my part I had fun creating this cake and placing every little detail that made me remember my old cake projects. Sweet and fun life!!
