When someone promises you the best steak you have ever eaten, it is a challenge that you have to accept.
Our friend invited us to dinner and asked us not to eat too much at noon, because we would eat "too much" in the evening.
Oh, he also asked us for a six-pack of sodas. I think you'll understand why...
This salad is called "Ntakos" in Greek. It is one of the traditional cretan salads made of barley rusk, fresh tomato grated on a grater, lots of feta cheese, some capers and of course olive oil.
Our second salad had lettuce, tomato, corn, toasted pine nuts and a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing.
We also had a "bougiourdi", another Greek specialty, which is baked in the oven in a special pan. The recipe is quite simple: we put in the pan large slices of feta cheese, some fresh tomato, green pepper and olive oil.
But the real treat were the steaks. I wish I could briing to you its aroma and taste. Even though it was bbq, it was so soft that you almost didn't need the knife to cut it. And the taste was so addictive that I abandoned my good table manners and took the steak off the bone with my hand to eat it and savor every last bit of it.
Honestly, it was the most delicious steak I've had so far in my life.
I don't know if you can tell the size of the steak from the photo, but I can assure you it was huge.
In the end, I couldn't eat the whole thing, because I was already bursting. (I know that the will scold me for saying this).
But, like any good meal, we had dessert: a chocolate cake that we didn't get to eat. because we were all cracked from eating. (only the little ones had their pieces, all the adults were stuffed)
It was a long time since I had such a good bbq food.
I am preparing myself for the second round in a few weeks (I need to go on a diet for a while so I can cope)
All the photos were taken with my mobile phone Redmi 7.
