Kidnapping or blackmailing me is super easy.
All you have to do is tell me "Hey! Want some BIRIYANI (বিরিয়ানী)?" I will agree to tag along first and inquire later "Who the hell are you!"
Like today. I had decided I will leave no matter how much Isha insists on me staying another day at her home.
: No! Shut up! I must go!
: How heartless. All I am asking just another day!
: Heaven seriously! I am coming back next week!
: What if I die in between!
: Areey! What the hell! Stop bullshitting.
: You I am gonna cook Bi-Ri-aaa-ni! I don't know when I will cook next time! (She heaved the lethal blow )
So I was conquered by her perseverance regardless of my solid determination!
And that is a kind of grandeur to cook even the simplest type of Biriyani. It takes relentless time and effort!
But Isha does it so smoothly, effortlessly as if cooking plain rice!
For a short description!
Marinate the chicken/beef/ mutton with curd, mashed ginger and garlic!
In between, fry the sliced potato. Crispy outside, soft inside.
Fry the onions in deep oil. Add some cinnamon, cardamom, Cassia-leaf.
Fry the rice in cheese just for a couple of minutes to have a crispy brownish look. Then mix the rice with the meat. Keep your until the rice is properly mixed with rice and other spices.
And voila! There you go! Biriyani is made!
After eating and being totally full I carve for a cup of tea or coffee! We would often go to the rooftop to sneak a smoke sometimes!
I have never cooked Biriyani but after writing the recipe tonight and observing her attentively, feel like it's easy peasy!
Good luck to you if you are going to attempt it!
