Welcome to back to my blog,today i would like to share recipe of Dhokla or savoury cake.Dhokla is an Indian most popular and a traditional snack recipe which made of yellow Moog Daal batter, it is basically originates from western india mainly known as gujarati cuisine. The recipe is a combination of both sweet and sour taste, which is usually served as a snack in the evening served it with green chilli chutney or Tomato sauce and can also served as morning breakfast recipe mainly in Gujarat.
Preparation Time - 5 Min
Ingredients
• 1 cup of Moong Daal/Split Yellow Gram.
• 1 Roughly chopped green chilli
• Salt to taste.
• Pinch of asafoetida.
• Pinch of Turmeric.
• 1 tbsp of cheakpea Flour.
• 1 tbsp of oil.
• 1 tbsp of Baking Soda.
• 2 tbsp of Curd.
For tampering
• 1 tbsp of oil.
• 1/2 tbsp of Mustard seeds.
• a pinch of asafoetida.
• 8-9 Curry leaves.
• 4 Tbsp of sugar.
How to make Dhokla
• Soak the yellow split gram for 1 hours in water, then Drain it well.
• Combine the yellow spilt Gram, Chickpea flour and green chilli in the mixing blender, add one cup of water to make a paste of pouring consistency .
• Transfer into another bowl, now add baking soda, asafoetida,salt, turmeric powder and curd,mix it well and make a thick batter.
• Pour the batter into the greased container.
• put your batter into steamer, stream it for 20 minutes still the dokhla cooked it well.
For tampering
• Take a fry pan, heat the oil.
• Now add mustard seeds,let them crackle, then add asafoetida, mustard seeds wait for 5 sec,add water to it, cooked for 5 minutes.
• Now pour the tampering over the prepared moong daal Dhokla and spread it evenly.
• Now cut the moong daal dkhola into pieces,serve it hot with green Chutney or tomato ketchup.
