This happened almost 2 months ago but still worth a post up on Hive because the food were so unforgettably delicious!
Ole-ole Bali is an eatery serving rather authentic Balinese Indonesian food. It has quite a few outlets all over Klang Valley in Malaysia.
We went to this outlet located at:
G2-25a, KL East Mall, 823, Jln Lingkaran Tengah 2, Kuala Timur, 53100 Kuala Lumpur
Opening hours: 11am to 9pm
It is my second time here and the reason we came this round was for my husband's birthday. This eatery lets the birthday person eats their nasi campur (which is their mixed rice) for free on the exact day of birthday. So all redemption must be done on the exact day as they do check on identification cards to verify.
We could tell that I was not the only person bringing a birthday person that day as there was already a lady with her mother there celebrating her birthday as the staff was taking down the details from her.
Then it was the husband's turn.
THE Nasi Campur
Of course we ordered the nasi campur which is already very impressive.
It was more like a platter to feast on than a plate of mixed rice. You can choose from a choice of beef rendang or chicken rendang. We went for the beef, of course. It has a specialty of Balinese grilled lemongrass prawns, squid and fish, a satay of chicken meat on a lemongrass stick, some beans salad, rempeyek with rice. The sambal (chilli spices) were to die for because they are soooooo fragrant!
The staff came to take a photo of the birthday man before he gobbled everything down.
Of course the birthday boy finished it all! I helped a little hahaha.
Grilled Lamb Chop
I ordered a grilled lamb chop because I remember it tasting good but wow I did not remember it tasting this good. The lamb was cooked perfectly and not tough at all. It was served with a very delicious dipping sauce too. It comes together with very nicely fried fries and a huge slice of watermelon. I was soooo satisfied with this.
I was blown away by especially its salad which was papaya and mango salad with the most appetizing dressing ever. Hands down to the best salad in my life.
My Carrot Juice
I had some funny craving for carrot juice and finally I got one that is good. It is not sugary sweet but so refreshing for me!
Bubur Injin
Finally it was dessert time and my husband ordered this dessert that has black glutinous rice with fresh coconut milk. It was even topped with a scoop of Vanila ice cream with some bananas and dessicated coconut pieces. It was good according to him. I just tried a mouthful as I had to watch out my sugar intake.
Ambience and Layout
I like it that we came on a weekday that we basically were having the whole space to ourselves. It is cooling here and it has a great view overlooking some greenery outside.
The tables and chairs looked like they are made of solid wood. They have also interesting pictures of Indonesians hung on the wall.
They have some interesting lamps hung over us.
I only paid RM78 for my meals because the husband had his as a complimentary birthday gift.
