He had been missing since the onset of pandemic 2 years ago. My brother and I really love his spinach noodle and had been looking left and right for him, searching one Kopitiam after another but to no avail.
He is 'Jiu Gong' 舅公
However, we still call him Spinach Uncle haha. I almost wanted to call him Popeye one day since Popeye loved eating spinach. If you do not know who Popeye is, means you are wayyyy younger than me.
Anyway, my brother found him few days ago and immediately told me!!!
He has his own restaurant now selling noodle series and the moment my brother told me the location and it is nearby, I could not wait to try.
Jiu Gong Noodle House (舅公菠菜面馆)
Previously, this place was Kim Restaurant selling nice chicken rice and now has been taken over by Uncle for his family business. We are so happy for him. The new shop has a big banner with his face printed there too. Handsome or not?
Location: 12, Jalan Usahawan 7, Sri Rampai Business Park, 53300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
When we reached there, it was packed, so we had to wait for awhile for a table of a family to finish eating theirs. It was a one shoplot unit, clean and comfortable enough. Although it was full house, we did not feel cramp. It was fully loaded with fans and air-conditioning units, making the whole shop in cooling mode. Simple restaurant with some decoration like the photo below on the wall, and a statue at left hand side of the entrance.
Jiu Gong was busy preparing food at the kitchen and other family members were the ones helping with food ordering and tables cleaning. I had a quick look at the menu to scan what other food they serve. So yup, as the name of the shop suggests, they serve mainly noodles. No rice series. But there are snacks like dumplings.

Once our food was ordered, it took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. Very impressively fast considering the many customers in the shop.
Spinach Noodle
I ordered for myself a bowl of spinach noodle with minced pork, shredded chicken and wantan, I chose small size. What I love about this noodle is the seasoning they used, it made the whole bowl of noodle resembles the taste of home, just like the noodle at my hometown Sibu. But this one even more special, it came with shredded chicken, beansprouts and some vegetables too.
There are sauces ready for customers to add to our bowl of noodle for free. You can choose from usual chilli sauce, siracha, soy sauce, sambal chilli, pickled chillies and chilli flakes. I wanted to try the original that day so I added none. It was delicious and tasty. The soup and the wantan was nicely done too.
Tofu Longan
The boys were not hungry, so I packed another same spinach noodle, but I chose XL size. They have small, large and extra large sizes. I figured to order XL so that the boys could share. While waiting for me to eat, the waitress asked me whether I wanted to order drinks for the boys. He gave me a menu of two recommended drinks — tofu jelly longan and red date snow fungus. Initially, I did not want to order drink, but still order one tofu jelly longan in the end for the sake of supporting them. The boys super loved their tofu longan jelly drink.
When I got back home with the packed food. The boys were hungry by then. The moment I opened the container of noodle, I was shocked. The XL size was super duper huge. The amount of noodles scared me. Haha. After letting the boys ate their portion and till very full, we still had remainder of another plate, almost like the S size amount. Therefore, I had it for my dinner. Lol...
I paid total RM26 for everything which I thought it was reasonable for a restaurant price and with comfortable seating and environment. It was indeed a spinach noodle day for me and I was totally satisfied. For the love of noodles. I would definitely go back there again to try another noodle which has bittergourd in it, as well as another noodle called Thailand Chicken Kuey Chap Noodle Soup! Anything Thai will catch my attention.
