Hi, all hivens!! Papaya pok pok can mean “papaya salad” in Thai. :) In Thailand we can make a lot of food with papaya. It’s one fruit that you can find anywhere in Thailand, at the supermarket or local market.
I’d say it's an interesting kind of fruit. Here in Thailand we can make an amazing salad with it, as you might already know, it’s called “Som Tum”(ส้มตำ) or “Papaya Salad”. Using raw green papaya to make it. Also raw green papaya we can deep fry it, mix it with flour and flavor it with some lemon grass, one chili and a little bit of salt. It came out pretty well. It’s called “Kang Pong”. I'm not sure if it's northern food or regular Thai food. It’s tasty and crispy. One of my favorite snacks 😅 but been trying not to eat too much fried. 🤨 😋
Well, since I’ve tried to avoid deep fried so I ate it when it was ripe. 😃 To be honest, I’m not a big fan of papaya but after I haven’t had for long time. I kinda missed the taste. So I ate half of one. It was sweet and had a little bit of a weird texture. Maybe it wasn’t perfectly ripe or I don’t know…but I do know the papaya from the tribe(where I’m from) tastes different and better, I guess 😊. Well, one thing I’m sure about it was that it was better than deep fried ones. 😁😁 So it was my lunch that kept me with the day today. 👍 😉
