Hey guys,
how are you today? I'm finally through with my exams and really happy about it.
Today I would like to introduce you to the onion tart, as I always make it.
What you need for ingredients (these ingredients are only for the dough, depending on how you like it, you can then give the topping on the cake dough, more on this later):
- 300g flour
- 20g yeast
- 1/8 l lukewarm milk
- 80g fat
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon caraway
And this is how you prepare the onion tart:
With an electric device (we have an electric kitchen appliance that kneads the dough itself, otherwise you take a mixer, I think that should also work, the dough was not much firmer than cookie dough) you knead the flour, yeast, milk, fat and salt well. It should be a smooth yeast dough, the consistency is important here. With us it actually took a little longer, and even with the fully automatic machine 15 minutes, do not be discouraged by this;).
Then grease the mold with maragarine (we use a round one for this) and sprinkle some parnier flour over it. Then we roll out the dough. Make sure that you roll out the dough from the inside, from the center to the outside. It should be about the same height at the edge. I must confess, we had clearly too much dough and did not divide it again into another form, however, I like dough very much and the result it has not worsened in my opinion;) if you like less dough then maybe take only 2/3 of the recipe or divide the dough into two forms.
Then take the onions and cut them into coarse rings. See how many onions we ended up with? More than a big cup full!(well, it was also 5 people full;). Fry the bacon in a pan with olive oil and let it become transparent. Add the onions and let them sauté well. Then we give the onions and bacon on the batter, salt the onions and bacon again.
With a whisk or an electric hand mixer whisk the cream, eggs, salt and caraway seeds. You can now pour the mixture over the dough with the onions and bacon. The cake can be left in the oven at about 225 degrees for 45 minutes, check every now and then. Finished!
And this is the final result! What do you say? If you would like to try the recipe, write me your feedback in the comments, if it has geshcmeckt. I would be very interested. See you next time!
