“Mochi-Rice Cakes”

Mochi is tasty isn’t it? I love Mochi (餅), rice cakes very much. Ancient people started eating Mochi quite early time in our history because our harvesting rice culture has a pretty long history in Japan. I heard that after people developed steaming systems, they started eating Mochi often. Mochi is a popular food in most Eastern Asian countries.

餅はおいしいですよね、大好きです。日本では稲作が根付いているので、かなり昔から餅を食べる文化があったようです。蒸す技術が発展してから餅を頻繁に食べるようになったとのことです。餅は東アジアでは人気の食べ物です。
