The dough is easy to make: First, pour sour cream, sugar, and salt into a bowl and combine well. Leave this for about 10 minutes, as it is necessary for the sugar to dissolve. Then add the softened butter and combine. Add flour and knead the dough.
Roll out the dough into a large rectangle (32x40), and then cut it into 4 strips about 8 cm wide, as in the picture.
Put the jam along the middle of each strip. Make sure that the jam is very thick, otherwise, it will leak during baking. I used plum jam made by my mom, with pieces of plum, perfect for this dessert
The next step is to slowly fold the edges of the strips and make a roll with jam inside.
Place the baking paper on the baking tray. Cut the rolls to the desired length (about 6-7cm) before baking and arrange them on baking paper. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees. When they are done, sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
These cookies are delicious. I also made them with poppy seeds, but they are still tastier with jam. And most importantly my kids adore it.
My daughter loves to make cookies with me, but this time she made her own cookies in the garden. The decoration is fantastic, and the cakes are of course out of any competition :) 😃
