Hello There, Hivers! it's me again "Lao ji" How's your day? Hope you doing great. I would love to share with you our food and travel experience in Manila Chinatown, Ongpin Philippines. Let's get started. π
My food buddy. π€
Our first destination since we are hungry that time, we try this πThe Original Shanghai Fried Siopao since 1985. This food is called Fried Siopao (Fried Hot Bun,) it's only... I think 30 PHP ($0.58). Other than Siopao they sell different kinds of food like Siomai (Steamed Dumpling), Kikiam, etc.
The bun is so hot so I have to hold it with a towel. Hahaha! But taste superB. π
While we walking down the area, we saw this Lumpiang sariwa or Fresh Lumpia (Fresh Spring roll). I forgot to take picture of the store because I'm still hungry and excited about this. π
By the way, that sauce I drizzle is a sweet sauce perfect for the mixed veggie with the garlicky thing inside. ππ
Since we need to rest for a little because of the long walk. We ate at some of the Chinese restaurants that served also great food.
Here we are at some secret food restaurants, located at the side of the bridge.
This is the entrance.
We ordered rice (Yang chow Fried rice), Sweet Buttered Shrimp, and their specialty that must try which is Frog legs (Fried frog legs) π€π₯
Me, patiently waiting for the food to serve. HAHAHA! π
Sheesh! (left to right) Fried frog legs, Yang chow Fried rice, Sweet Buttered Shrimp.
The food is so good, especially the frog legs. I'm not a fan of frog legs but you need to try them, taste like chicken and it's not too expensive, all good for their price.
Before we go home we must try this Hakaw and Xiao long bao here in πChuan Kee Chinese Restaurant too many people also want to eat, so we must fall in line before we get inside and reserve our seats.
Hakaw (made with flour, cornstarch, and water, wraps around a ball of shrimp.)π₯
Xiao Long bao (Soup dumplings or Soupy buns) pork filling and hot bun with special soup flavor. They cook it in a bamboo steamer.
after all the great food that we have, we need some dessert before we finally get home.
so we go to πLord's Stow Bakery they offer Macau's famous Egg tarts for only 48 PHP each ($0.92), coffees, and other pastries.
Egg tarts! π
waiting for her Iced Coffee.π
Finally, time to go home! HAHAHA! there you have it, our mini-date food trip here in Ongpin. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for the time to read my blog and thank you for the support. much appreciatedπ€
