I noticed there was only one restaurant in Kathmandu that serves a Syrian dish. The name of the restaurant is knkwn as Taza, which means fresh. Actually the owner of this restaurant is Bassel Shreiqi, who is a native to Syria and his wife is a Nepalese. They both had been in love since they met in Dubai. Bassel had just moved to Dubai in 2010 in search of jobs before civil war broke out in Syria in 2011.
I really loved the Syrian Cuisine. As I was going to Pulchowk, Kathmandu, my eyes was captivated with that name sounding like Arabic. Thought to give it a try and I ordered Shawarma Falafel Wrap ( first picture). It is made of fresh veggie, chick peas, chilli spices, hummus and so many other ingredients. The food in second picture is Baklava with Ice Cream and it comes with Pistachio nuts and almonds filled in the cream.
There's much more food to taste in Arabic culture and I would love to taste many of them. In coming days, I will love to go there and taste other Arabic dishes too. I really loved the taste of those dishes which I had.
