Hi All,
I have been longing to rave about Rokko Japanese BBQ on the HIVE Community for a while and last Saturday I remembered to take some photos of the amazing food to share it with you.
Rokko Japanese BBQ is located in Hurstville, which is 35 minute south of Sydney CBD. I was so surprised we were able to make a booking late in the afternoon for dinner on a Saturday night. I guess we were so lucky!
This Japanese BBQ restaurant is a bit different, you don't have to get up to get your meats and veggies from a buffet like other Japanese BBQ. The friendly staff will come to you with a menu and will take your order.
I been to Rokko many times and I tried nearly every single dish they have to offer. So I went to my favorite dishes; for entree we ordered cabbage Kimchee and Edamame. For the mains we ordered 2x Flap Meat from the Waygu section, 2x Miso Pork Karubi and 2x Spicy Tontoro both from the pork section and 2x Spicy Chicken. We didn't bother getting any side dishes**
We also ordered 4 servings of rice and some drinks - Asahi Dry Black, Choya Sparkling Plum Wine and 2 Coke. I highly recommend trying Asahi Dry Black as it goes down so well with the Japanese BBQ, it's light but still gives you that crisp Asahi taste.
Finally it was time to eat, I normally love to cook just for the enjoyment of the experience. Plus I want to make sure the Waygu flap meat is cooked medium rare.
It's always been a great dinning experience at Rokko Japanese BBQ. The staff are so friendly and the meats are always fresh, good quality and the marination are out of this world. If you are in Sydney I recommend to pay them a visit.
**I do recommend some amazing side dishes; Goyza and Karaage
