Hi Foodies & Vegans!
Today i wanna present to you 2 plates that i
fixed with a typical "poor man food":
Actually it's rice & beans. But i prefer lentils.
And with purchasing those "simple" ingredients, you
will see that there are great differences.
Simple Ingredients, High Quality
Already buying the organic lentils, especially the
beluga lentils e.g., you will see that it's rather a
"A Rich Man's Food".😜
On the 2 plates here, i "pimped" Rice & Lentils
into something rather rich.😉
And also the basic ingredients should be clean, organic and
of high quality.
Plate1: Basmati Rice , Mixed Veggies with Mangold,Carrots,Eggplant and Kohlrabi and Red Lentils together with a Dill Mustard Gravy and a little Cucumber Salat on Top garnished with Sunflower Seeds.
Plate 2: The same Rice,Veggies and Lentils, but this time garnished with Pumpkin Seeds,Chashews and Rucola Salad. Wow, i learned 2 new words: Rocket or Arugula Salat..for Rucula.😀
The Basics, Basmati Rice,Veggies and Red Lentils + the Gravy for the first Plate:
The veggies are prepared with Mediterranean herbs, garlic,
an onion and olive oil.
The dill mustard gravy is made with water, a little rice milk, wheat flour,
dill,salt & pepper,broth, a spoon of mustard and a whole lotta stirring.😉
Preparing the first Plate:
Voilà ! Enjoy No.1 😋
Preparing Plate No.2
For sure this way of preparing food plates is inspired
by the fact, that some of us don't have the time to cook 24/7.
The more basic ingredients you prepare, dependent on
the size of your fridge, you can create plates for
several days with extra ingredients to bring the change.
Still, it saves you a lot of time on day 2 or 3, if
you got work to do.
Heat up the oven, get a little creative & "flip" the "basics"
around.🙃
This is what i did here:
Rucola pon Top!😋
So after i "flipped" the plate and put the
Basmati Rice,Veggies and Red Lentils together with
pumpkin seeds and cashews in the oven for like
20 min. to get those gorgeous roasting aromas,
i put a big hand full of Rucola on top, fresh ground
pepper, olive oil & (red wine) vinegar.
And here comes Plate No.2:
Rather a rich man's food, right!?
What do you think? 😉
