Today I will write you a recipe for a Cypriot dish, which is called "Lahmaja".
"Lahmaja" is of oriental origin.
In North Cyprus it is called "Lahmajun"
The "Lahmaja" prepared by the Greek Cypriots is different from the "Lahmajun" prepared by the Turkish Cypriots.
I have not tried "Lahmajun". Therefore, I cannot compare.
I really like "Lahmaja" which my late mother-in-law taught me to cook, whom I loved very much ...
The recipe is very simple and quick to prepare.
You will need:
Onion
Bell pepper
Fresh tomatoes
Minced pork half a kilogram
Parsley
Salt
Ground black pepper
Lemon
tortillas
Corn oil (some)
The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet
Cut in small pieces:
Onions, bell peppers, fresh tomatoes and parsley.
I am not writing the number of these products, as you can make the proportions to your liking.
You can navigate, if you want, according to my photo.
And add all this to the minced meat.
Salt and pepper to your liking.
Stir well and add some corn oil and mix well again.
By tortilla, I mean this:
I cut it in half (lengthwise)
And I put the cooked minced meat on top.
I put parchment paper on a baking sheet and on it "Lahmaja"
Cook in the oven at 180 ° C until tender, about 30-40 minutes.
Ready-made "Lahmaja" everyone pours with fresh lemon juice to taste
And Bon Appetit!!!
P.S. Sorry, it’s funny for me to write about this, but I don’t have a photo of the finished "Lahmaja". Forgotten, we ate it all :-)
