Whenever I see movies, rarely a character goes to a full course dinner alone. That was also something I saw when I visited a French Mediterranean restaurant in town that serves full course dinner. Almost everyone who went into this place was either with their significant others, their family or friends. But since the first time I visited this place back in 2018, I kept going alone and they sat me in the corner and just the other day, once again, they sat me at the same corner. Anyhow, unlike in the past where I felt quite bothered about the surroundings, I didn’t mind it. Instead, I kind of enjoyed it.
When the waitress approached me, they gave me a few minutes to decide what to eat. So, I ordered a full course meal with three options. Starters, Main Course, and Dessert.
Full Course Dinner
Hors d'oeuvre
This restaurant called Mediterranean has plenty of options on the french mediterranean menu from starters to dessert. A lot of meals here are in huge portions and could be a shared meal especially when it’s the hors d'oeuvre. That time, I ordered Escargots de bourgogne which is snail served with garlic bread and butter sauce. I thought the green sauce was pesto but it tastes garlicky and oily. It was great eaten with the garlic bread. There are two options in this menu, you can pick either 6 snails or 10 snails. Since I am alone, I picked the 6 snails and it was already making me full before the main course.

Main Course
There are some options in this place for their main course from poultry to fish. That day, I chose Barramundi Pan Seared served with fresh ricotta, crispy potatoes, amaranth leaves, olive oil and Red bell pepper coulis. On top of it there’s sliced lemon which goes great when you’re about to eat the barramundi.

I also added an extra cold ratatouille which is the first time I had it cold. It definitely doesn’t look like the common ratatouille that most of us know.
Dessert
One of the best things about this place is their dessert. There are plenty of beautifully crafted desserts and one that I chose, since I could only do one, is Panna Cotta. Their panna cotta is accompanied by vanilla from Flores on a buttered biscuit and Red berries Coulins. By the way, all the menus are also available online. Which made me able to decide earlier what to pick before actually picking inside the restaurant.

Taste & Service
Their food and service are great. It makes you feel welcomed and their food is worth every penny spent. For this restaurant, this place isn’t too expensive. I was expecting that there would be an increase of the price but that wasn’t the case. For a full course dinner with three meals at least, expect to spend around minimum 14$/person which I believe is not a bad price considering the food, the plating, and the service. If you’re feeling generous, you can also leave tips which isn’t really a customary in Indonesia but it’s appreciated if you do so.
What I enjoyed the most was the escargot which was my first time tasting it. I wasn’t expecting that to be great but it was. This place is definitely recommended if you visit Yogyakarta even just for lunch. Any occasion, you can never go wrong with this place.
