In this episode of Wander and Savor, I am going to show you some desserts that you can find in Thailand other than sticky mango rice. If you enjoy peeking into the food variety of Thailand, you can also check my previous one on it about the meals that you can try such as khao soi, som tam etc. But it’s time for desserts now. When it comes to desserts, there are some that you can commonly find in neighboring countries.
Another day I was showing you some of the meals like Khao Soi, Som Tam, etc. Today it’s time for desserts. There are many unique desserts but they are also commonly found in neighboring countries. However, in Thailand the desserts are sold in street markets and they are very colorful. From my observations, they look like they also have Chinese influence in it. For me, it was my first time tasting lotus as a dessert. I was quite surprised by how that tasted. It was not as bitter as I thought it would. My friend mentioned some of the desserts tasted like cough medicine which was really true. It tastes like a kid's cough medicine but also refreshing at the same time. It was a strange mixture but we ended up liking it, strangely.
There were many desserts you could choose from and the way to order was simply by pointing out the number on the display. Then, they will make it for you and you have the option to sit down and enjoy the dessert. The prices are also displayed on the screen and it varies depending on what you like but it shouldn’t really cost you more than $2-3. If you’re in Thailand, I suggest that you should never miss this kind of dessert stall!
See you in my next wander and savor blog!
